The Council of International Schools (CIS) is the premier organisation in International Education for the accreditation of schools and Best Practice development. NCCT is the abbreviation of the National Center for School Curriculum and Textbook Development, a non-governmental agency affiliated to the Ministry of Education of China.
NCCT is so far the only accreditation-related agency approved by Ministry of Education to carry out accreditation of local and international schools in Mainland China.
Achieving accreditation is a process of rigorous internal review, self evaluation and team visits. SSIS is proud to share that we have received full accreditation from CIS and NCCT this July, to join hundreds of other accredited prestigious schools all over the world.
The CIS central purpose is to enable member organisations to achieve and deliver the highest standards in International Education and continually improve the outcome of student learning. The CIS accreditation has therefore enabled us to validate our current performance against rigorously designed benchmarks which are both local and international.
CIS/NCCT accreditation is a long term exercise and a process that focuses on continual improvement for the benefit of the school's students. Whilst commending SSIS, the CIS visiting team also gave in depth feedback and recommendations for still further improvement in the short and the long term. By achieving CIS/NCCT accreditation we have been able to satisfy some of the most demanding standards in the world that international schools can be asked to meet. This achievement positions SSIS among a select group of outstanding schools in the region.
