SSIS to launch IGCSE in 2012/2013

Tuesday, 27 April 2010 16:41

SSIS will begin to introduce the 2-year International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) for students in Secondary Three (Grade 9) in Academic Year 2012-2013. As an experienced IB school for both the Middle Years Program and Diploma Program, SSIS is now well-positioned to offer our Secondary School students an integrated program where the best practices of both the IB MYP and IGCSE curriculum are matched and fused.  While the latter focuses on academic excellence and knowledge required to excel in the IB Diploma Program, SSIS students will continue to benefit from the skills-based learning approach from IB MYP when they are in Secondary One and Two (Grade 7 and 8).  The school has been approved as a teaching institute for IGCSE since June 2009 and detailed preparation to launch the program is now in the pipeline, all ready to kick off a successful new program.
