The SSIS community came together on Thursday, September 28th and had a Spirit day to support our SISAC volleyball teams. All three teams were playing their last home games of the regular season. A sea of red and blue could be seen in the gymnasium during the Senior school lunch while students played and collected house points for their involvement. Teachers from all divisions changed to show their Sabre colours. The school Sabre store even supported the event by hosting a spirit sale.

The volleyball games were exciting and close in competition. Every court was intense with anticipation of the next point. All games went into the third set tied 1-1. The D2 Girls finished with a win! The D1 Boys and D1 girls had games were tied at 14-14 but just could not clinch the final points.

The teams played very well and they definitely felt the energy from the spectators, as a huge turnout of parents, students, and staff were in the bleachers cheering them on. The coaches said it was the kind of play they are always hoping for the players to display. They were communicating with each other and they fought very hard until the end.

Thank you to Coaches Randy Limon, Christine Padachie, Nilan Senaratna, Jamie Cattran and Natalie Sharp. Good luck to you and your teams for the rest of the season.

Let’s go Sabres! A very big thank you to our supporters. If you missed out on the excitement, please make sure you mark your calendars for our upcoming events.
