IB CORE –
Creativity, Activity & Service (CAS)
Here at SSIS, CAS takes on different forms throughout a student’s 2-year IB educational journey. Along the way, our students develop their IB learner attributes to become the well-rounded and balanced students that the programme and our school envision to cultivate.
One such form of CAS presents itself as a VOLUNTEERING opportunity. On Sunday, September 16th, 2018, Huacao held their second annual International Family Day; encouraging cultural exchanges between local and international families.
SSIS had 13 Grade 11 CAS students who volunteered to help out during the day playing an integral role for the overall success of the carnival. The students conducted themselves marvelously with positivity and spirit, communicating to guide and translate for international families. In addition, SSIS students demonstrated initiative and leadership skills in facilitating different booths at the carnival.
They continue to demonstrate that they are open-minded and ready to take on risk with courage. They genuinely enjoyed giving back to their community and conducted themselves as great ambassadors for our school.
We look forward to share more of the great extra-curricular CAS projects and experiences our Grade 11 and 12 students will get involved this year and beyond.
