Our I4Cs in Action
Celebrating Mid-Autumn with a Difference
The realization of a lifelong learner with strength of character and love of humanity is the vision of SSIS. We provide students with a platform to step out of the campus to learn and care for people around them.
Our first collaboration with Jinfeng International Community brought eight of our Grade 6 students to visit the elderly from Evergreen Homeland Nursing Home in Huacao Town.
Besides celebrating the recent Mid-Autumn Festival, we took the opportunity to establish closer ties and relationships with them through the demonstration of our i4C values ofInitiative, Care, Collaboration and Communication.
In the nursing home, our students interacted with the elderly. They talked to them about their school life, read together, sang for them and even presented them greeting cards, just as if they were spending time with their grandparents. What a meaningful and memorable event!
“I am grateful to the school for giving us this opportunity. I am very honored to go to the nursing home to visit the elderly. It is very interesting to tell them stories. I feel so happy to see their smiles. The nursing home feels very warm and I hope that they will live a happy and long life.” said CHEN Ruo Xin from G6 Ruby.
