SSIS Sports

Students in Grades 1-4
have the opportunity to join different After School Program offerings that encourage healthy active living. Throughout the year offerings might include multi-sport, soccer, cricket, floor hockey, golf, martial arts and more. Students from Grade 3-6 compete in Soccer Days.

Students in Grades 5-8 participate in the Chinese International Schools Sports Association (CISSA). It is a multi-inclusive sports organization comprised of Shanghai based international schools.  It is a goal of the program to foster individual and team excellence in a cooperative, friendly and enjoyable environment between all participating students. This sporting association is based on fair play and providing opportunity for everyone to play in a safe environment regardless of skill level. The sports that we currently participate in are touch rugby, soccer, cross-country running, table tennis, floor hockey, ultimate frisbee, volleyball, badminton, track and field, and basketball.

Students in Grades 9-12 participate in the Shanghai International Schools Athletics Conference (SISAC). The organization aims to provide seasonal sports competition and activities events in a well-chaperoned environment for the students of International schools in Shanghai. The teams are competitive and selected by the coaches based on skill level and commitment. The sports seasons in order are Volleyball, Cross Country, Basketball, Table Tennis, Soccer, Badminton and Cross Country.

As new members of Association of China and Mongolia International Schools (ACAMIS), we have opened up more possibilities for travel and new experiences within our host country. Student achievement is recognized throughout each season and the year ends with a major sports celebration to honor all athletic commitments in Grades 9-12.
