Frequently Asked Questions
Here are the answers to some important and frequently asked questions. We hope this section provided you with some common questions that we have received. Please feel free to ask more questions via our email if you possess any.
Why are there two separate conferences?
We have two operate two separate conferences that run concurrently; one for beginners and one for more experienced delegates. We wanted PUXIMUN to cater to delegates of all experience levels. In the beginner conference, delegates will be taught how to write good resolutions and opening speeches, and will also be able to see the more experienced delegates debating. They will additionally get a chance to debate themselves. For more information see the schedule.
Will beginner delegates be required to write resolutions and opening speeches beforehand?
Beginner delegates do not have to write resolutions or speeches, as the chairs in the committees will teach them and guide them through the process of writing good ones. Instead, beginner delegates are highly encouraged to do some research on the topics in their committees, in order to be able to excel in the debate.
Who would qualify as a "beginner?"
A “beginner” would be anyone who has just begun their MUN journey and is unsure about how MUN works. Delegates who have attended 1 or 2 conferences can attend as well since this conference really solidifies on MUN concepts and skills.
Will beginner delegates be able to debate?
Yes! Beginner delegates will have plenty of time to debate on the second half of the second day and all of the third day! For the detailed timestamps, please consult the schedule.
Who will be teaching the beginner delegates?
We will select a group of chairs who are experienced and display an interest in mentoring less experienced delegates. One of these chairs might even be you, if you apply with the form on our website!
