Welcome Address

Dear Beginner Delegates of SSIMUN, 

It is our honour and upmost pleasure to welcome all of you to our first SSIMUN conference! We are also proud and happy to present to you this new dimension we have added to our first conference that has never been explored before, for you!

We believe that the experience of MUN should start with a strong understanding of the fundamentals of politics, debate, and problem-solving skills. Often new delegates struggle to establish their voices and opinions in the debate, as the session is taken over by experienced veteran delegates. Thus, we decided to introduce a full separate session for all first-time delegates with a parallel running schedule.

It will consist of carefully curated lesson plans and mentorship from experienced delegates and directors that will explain different aspects of MUN to each one of you! 

However, ‘learning and understanding’ itself isn’t enough, and application of those skills is just as important in a place like MUN. Therefore, you will get a taste of what debate is like in the second and third days during your debate sessions.  

We hope this conference can strengthen and develop your understanding of MUN to ensure your success in further MUN endeavours.
