STUDENT

OFFICERS

My name is Kelly Lee, and I have participated in MUN since 6th grade – I have been a delegate in several conferences, as well as an admin in one, and part of the Secretariat team in another. My topic of expertise would be social and human rights topics, since I myself as a delegate have been mostly placed into ECOSOC or HRC. The constant interaction with this area of study has also led me to become more interested in working with human rights and possibly the UN in the future – I hope your MUN experience motivates you as delegates, and maybe even as future chairs, as well. – Deputy Chairs

Hi, my name is Happy Liang. For this conference, my expertise will be on the topic of implementing a K-12 educational framework to equip students for life in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. A little about my MUN experience: I have attended MUN for the past five years – and attended many official conferences as a delegate, as well as four more as a Chair. Really though, I say these qualifications only because I want all of you to know that I, along with the two other Chairs, are qualified to make this conference a good one, and one that you might look back on as you later travel further into your MUN journey. We want you to enjoy these two days, learn new things and see from different perspectives. And as a promise on my side, I will do my best to ensure that every delegate gets attention, recognition, and the opportunity to speak out when it comes to sharing all of your voices.
So in true MUN fashion, I can only end on this note: I look forward to seeing all of you, and I wish for a fruitful debate. Good luck! – President Chair

Hello, my name is IHyeon Rha, and I will be one of your deputy chairs for Commitee 3 of General Assembly. I am currently a sophomore at SMIC and have been a member of HSMUN since 9th grade. Having delegated in commitees such as the Security Council, Human Rights Council, I have shown great passion for MUN for a long time. I hope that my ability will grow even more as I take part of this conference and hope to gain experience through this year’s SSIMUN. This will be my first time chairing, and I look forward to interacting with all of you delegates – IHyeon Rha – Deputy Chair

chair applications

All candidates who wish to serve as chairs in the conference will have to submit their completed chair applications and sent to the SSIMUN team.  All candidates should make sure they are closely following the specified instructions on the application and should complete all fields of the application.

Non-biased decisions are made at SSIMUN and we hope you can maintain your enthusiasm incase of unfavourable results as well.

Particularly exceptional chairs will have a chance to earn a place on the Panel of Exemplary Officers.

Get started on those applications and good luck!

Other information

This batch of chairs for the beginner’s committees hold a responsibility stronger than normal chairs and will be given a higher set of expectations as you are going to be mentoring young first-time delegates that require stronger and better assistance from you. We encourage you to make your chair report simple and easy-to-read as you don’t want to lose your delegate in the report. Remember to be approachable in the conference. This is a great chance for you to develop a student’s mindset for the entire MUN program so make it worth for them!
