Our new Humanities teacher Christopher Hayes was originally from Toronto, Canada. He attended the University of Windsor and graduated with a B.A. in History and Geography, and a B.Ed. in Intermediate/Senior teaching. He is currently completing a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership with the Open University (London, UK). He has taught in Canada, UK, China, and calls Shanghai home for the last twelve years, where he has developed a love for xiaolongbao and PVG Terminal 2. His two children, Matilda and Henry, were both born here and have already experienced travel to many exotic locations such as Sri Lanka, Slovenia, and Cambodia. He believes History and Geography are the most important subjects one can learn because all aspects of life such as; food, language, science, and sport, are all components of these holistic subjects.
Founded in 1996, the Shanghai Singapore International School aims to develop each student into a responsible global citizen, with a strong sense of character preparing them for success in any life or career path they may choose.
