Hello/ Ki Ora/ 你好/привет from our new Mathematics Head of Department.
He was born and brought up in Mumbai, India before immigrating to New Zealand in 2001. He calls himself a Kiwi Indian as he is now a Citizen of New Zealand. At times, he is confused about his cultural identity and also feel very privileged to represent both the east and west.
He is greatly looking forward to serving the wonderful, vibrant, international minded, professional community that SSIS represents and living in Shanghai- one of the top cities in the world. He is hoping to learn Chinese and the rich Chinese culture and traditions. He considers himself as truly very fortunate to have lived and worked as a Math teacher in India, New Zealand, Russia and China. He brings with him over 20 years of Math teaching/facilitating experience at Secondary and tertiary levels to students of varied abilities, nationalities, age groups, religious and culturally diverse learning communities. This will be his sixth year of teaching/facilitating IBDP Math HL and SL courses. As a member of IB community he consciously makes an effort to live up to IB learner profile in and outside of School communities he has been. He is truly grateful to IB for providing him with the much-needed opportunities to grow as a person and a professional. He spends his spare time watching slapstick comedy movies, TV serials, socialize with friends and cook healthy vegetarian/ vegan food.
Founded in 1996, the Shanghai Singapore International School aims to develop each student into a responsible global citizen, with a strong sense of character preparing them for success in any life or career path they may choose.
