Dear Parents and community members,
Welcome back to another exciting school year! I hope you all had a restful and rejuvenating summer break. As we embark on this new academic journey, I would like to take a moment to emphasise the importance of starting the year in a positive way and ensuring that all students understand and are set for a wonderful school year.
At Shanghai Singapore International School, we believe in fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment where every individual is valued and respected. It is crucial for our students to recognise the need to embrace diversity and to treat each other with kindness and empathy. By doing so, we create a harmonious community that thrives on mutual respect and understanding.
Furthermore, I would like to stress the significance of open lines of communication within our school community. It is essential for all members, including students, parents, and staff, to actively engage in dialogue and set clear goals for learning. By explicitly communicating our expectations and aspirations, we can work together to ensure that every student reaches their full potential.
I would also like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to the entire school community for their participation in last Friday’s anniversary celebration. It was truly heart-warming to see so many families attend the event and join in the festivities. The family afternoon party after school was a delightful way to bring our community together and celebrate our shared history and future.
Lastly, I would like to extend an invitation to all families to consider joining our upcoming parent and community golf tournament at Sun Island on Friday, October 13th. This event promises to be a fun-filled day of friendly competition and camaraderie. It is a fantastic opportunity to connect with other members of our school community and strengthen the bonds that make our school so special.
