26 September 2025
Dear Primary Parents,
The school year has begun smoothly, and it has been wonderful to see our students settle quickly into their learning. They are already engaged in classroom activities and showing a clear understanding of the routines and expectations. This positive start is helping to create a calm and focused learning environment where students can thrive.
SSIS Anniversary & Sabre Fun Day Celebration
We kicked off September with a joyful Anniversary Celebration (3rd Sept), marking our 29th year of learning and growth at SSIS. Students from the whole school came together for a joint assembly, followed by cake at lunch to commemorate the occasion.
The celebrations continued with our much-anticipated Sabre Fun Day, filled with exciting games, activities, and house spirit! A special thank you goes out to the Parent Support Group (PSG) for their enthusiastic support and contributions, helping to make this community event such a success.

New Grade 1 & 2 Library
We were thrilled to unveil our refreshed Primary Library for Grades 1 & 2 this month. It features new, student-friendly furniture and flexible learning spaces. The cosy and inviting environment has quickly become a favourite place for readers and inquirers alike. It’s open to Grade 1 & 2 students during lunch recess, and students have even spotted Ms. Draut leading surprise interactive read-aloud lessons!

Assembly on Bullying & Launch of “Sabre’s First Friend” Student Ambassador Program
Our Primary students participated in an important assembly focused on bullying awareness and prevention. Together, we explored the importance of kindness, inclusion, and standing up for others, reinforcing our commitment to fostering a safe, respectful, and caring school community.
As part of this initiative, we proudly launched a brand-new student leadership pathway: the “Sabre’s First Friend” Student Ambassador Programme. This exciting initiative invites selected student leaders to take on the responsibility of welcoming new classmates, supporting peers during transitions, and modeling inclusive behaviours in everyday school life.
Our Student Ambassadors will receive ongoing guidance and training to help them grow as empathetic leaders and positive role models throughout the school year. We are incredibly proud of the students stepping up to lead with compassion and courage!
Mobile Museum: Exploring the History of Golf & Student Leadership
Students have had the unique opportunity to visit a Mobile Museum exhibition focused on the History of Golf, right here on our campus! The travelling museum showcased the evolution of golf through engaging displays and interactive exhibits, sparking curiosity and discussion among our students.
The experience also provided a valuable opportunity for fostering student leadership, as selected Primary students were trained to serve as museum docents. These young leaders guided their peers through the exhibits, building confidence, presentation skills, and a deeper connection to the material.
Packing Snacks for ASPs
A gentle reminder to please pack a healthy snack for your child to enjoy before their After School Programme (ASP). Having a snack helps children refuel after a busy school day, keeps their energy levels steady, and allows them to stay focused and engaged during their activities. Thank you for supporting your child’s well-being and learning.
Communicating with Teachers
We value home and school communication and appreciate the ongoing communication that supports your child’s learning. To help our teachers balance their personal and professional time, we kindly ask that messages be sent between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm. Teachers will always do their best to respond within 24 working hours of receiving your message.
Student Council Representatives for AY2025–2026
We are pleased to announce that the Student Council representatives for the current school year have been selected. Our Student Council plays an important role in giving students a voice, building leadership skills, and supporting school events and initiatives.
Congratulations to our newly elected councilors! We look forward to seeing them represent their peers with responsibility and enthusiasm as they contribute to making our school an even better place for everyone.
