Early Years Summer Concert: SEEK

On the morning of Friday, May 15, our Early Years students took families on a magical adventure during this year’s Summer Concert, SEEK. Written and directed by the Early Years teaching team, the production followed a group of little friends on a journey to find the magical horse, Fei Fei. Along the way, students guided the audience through imaginative worlds, discovering that the most meaningful treasures are often found along the journey itself.

One of the most unique features of the performance was its immersive design. The experience began outdoors and continued into the PAC theatre, allowing families to follow the story from scene to scene alongside the performers. Through music, dance, drama, and vibrant costumes, students confidently showcased their creativity, collaboration, and growing independence. Every detail of the production reflected the care and dedication of our Early Years team and the spirit of holistic learning at SSIS. Thank you to all the families who joined us for this joyful celebration of imagination, courage, and discovery.

SSIS 1st Annual Fun Run

On May 18th, our Early Years and Primary students participated in the very first SSIS Fun Run held at Sun Island, a joyful event that brought together fitness, teamwork, and community spirit. Students from Family Class through Grade 2 travelled to Sun Island wearing their house shirts and PSG hats prepared to take on running trails. The day began a special plaque unveiling ceremony and charter signing that marked the beginning of what we hope will become a lasting SSIS tradition, followed by an energetic warm-up session.

Students ran through scenic trails surrounded by nature, cheered on by teachers, parents, and our Sabre mascot along the way. Students proudly received completion badges for crossing the finish line and participated in a collaborative handprint mural activity to commemorate the day. Families and staff then gathered together for lunch and celebration. The event was filled with laughter, encouragement, and school spirit, and it would not have been possible without the incredible support of our teachers, parent volunteers, and Sun Island partners. We look forward to making even more memories at future Fun Runs!

K2 Graduation Camp

On May 22nd, our Kindergarten 2 students enjoyed a memorable Graduation Day Camp filled with exploration, creativity, and celebration. The day began with a camping-themed story experience before students rotated through a variety of engaging outdoor activities including tent decorating, bubble play, golf, and sandwich making. Each activity encouraged collaboration, imagination, and hands-on learning while giving students the opportunity to celebrate the friendships and confidence they have built throughout their Early Years journey.

Students also enjoyed a special lunch buffet together before heading out on a nature walk around the school’s green spaces, where they appreciated the sights, sounds, and beauty of the outdoors. The camp concluded with a calming star-gazing experience in the Discovery Zone, where students relaxed on yoga mats beneath soft lights and music. The Graduation Camp was a joyful way to honour our K2 students and create lasting memories as they prepare for their transition into Grade 1.

K2 Graduation Ceremony

On Friday, May 29th, our Kindergarten 2 students proudly walked across the PAC stage in their caps and gowns as they received their promotion certificates during the K2 Graduation Ceremony. The celebration marked the culmination of a year filled with tremendous growth, learning, friendship, and discovery. Families watched with pride as students confidently celebrated this important milestone and their transition into Grade 1.

Students delighted parents with a sweet surprise performance, sharing a song that reflected their Early Years journey together. Following the ceremony, families enjoyed cake, photos, and a small graduation gift to commemorate the occasion, before continuing the celebration at a parent-organised party in the gym. We are incredibly proud of our K2 students and wish them continued success, confidence, and joy as they begin their next chapter upstairs.
