T3W1 – 28 Mar 2025
Dear SSIS Families,
March has come and gone but it was filled with a lot of learning in the Early Years! Our learning spaces have been buzzing with curiosity, creativity, and celebration as our young learners explored, discovered, and led the way.
STEAM Week: Classroom experiments that sparked wonder, the immersive planetarium experience and our high-energy ‘Mad Scientist’ show were some of the week’s highlights. These hands-on opportunities nurtured our learners’ natural curiosity, encouraging them to become confident problem solvers and critical thinkers.
Nursery Featured Assemblies: This month our Nursery Angsana and Nursery Bamboo students shone on the PAC stage, sharing their learning journeys and performances with pride.
Key Dates:
- Mar 29 – Student-Led Conferences (Non-school Day)
Our young learners will truly take the lead! It will be inspiring to see them reflect on their growth and confidently guide their families through their learning journeys. These moments will be powerful reminders of just how capable and knowledgeable our children are becoming.
- Apr 1 – Early Dismissal, Half Day
- Apr 2 to 4 – Tomb Sweeping Holiday (No school)
- Apr 7 to 11 – International Friendship Week
The AY24-25 International Friendship Week, taking place from April 7th to 11th. We warmly invite families to join us in celebrating the rich diversity of our SSIS community. Please sign up with your child’s Homeroom Teacher to share your culture, traditions, and stories!
- Apr 18 to 25 – Spring Excursions
Pre-Nursery, Kindergarten One and Kindergarten Two will be enjoying the spring weather and take their learning into the real world by heading to the Shanghai Zoo or SunIsland Resort for their much-awaited Spring Excursions!
- New Units of Inquiry (On-going during Term 3)
As we enter our final term, every year level will be diving into new Units of Inquiry. We encourage parents to keep the conversation going at home- ask questions, explore together, and celebrate the growing confidence, knowledge, and wonder in your child each day.
- Summer Concert Preparations (On-going)
As you know, Summer Concert preparations are now in full swing! You may see your child sharing some moves or lines at home as we work together towards our largest stage celebration of the year.
Enjoy the spring sunshine and make sure to make time to have fun outdoors- nature is the perfect classroom for hands-on learning!
Warm Regards,
Sonia Barghani, Ed.D.
