T1W2 – 30 Aug 2024
Dear SSIS Community,
I am thrilled to see how all of our students have kicked off the school year with such enthusiasm and positivity. It warms my heart to see them proudly wearing their uniforms, eager for their lessons, and showing respect to their peers and teachers.
As we move forward into the academic year, I would like to remind all parents that your first point of contact should always be your child’s home room teacher or subject teacher. Building a strong and supportive relationship with your child’s teachers is crucial for their success in school. Communication is key, and we encourage all parents to reach out and collaborate with our dedicated educators.
In the coming weeks, our home room teachers will be reaching out to parents to discuss any goals or concerns you may have for your child. This dialogue is essential for creating a personalised and effective learning environment for each student.
In support of teacher-parent communication, research has shown that when parents are actively involved in their child’s education, students are more likely to perform well academically and have positive attitudes towards school. As one parent shared, “I appreciate the open line of communication with my child’s teacher. It helps me feel more connected and involved in my child’s learning journey.”
On a more festive note, we are excited to announce that our SSIS Sabres Fun Fair will be taking place next Friday. We invite all families to join us for a day of fun, games, and community bonding. We look forward to seeing many of you there!
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community. Together, we can make this school year a truly memorable and successful one for all of our students.
Stronger Together,
Mr. Shirley
Head of School
