T3W10 – 30 May 2025
Dear SSIS Parents,
As we approach the end of another remarkable academic year, this is a beautiful moment to pause and celebrate your child’s growth, not just in their academic achievements, but in their character, resilience, and the friendships they have built along the way.
Research in child development shows that acknowledging milestones, whether big or small, strengthens a child’s sense of accomplishment, belonging, and self-worth (Eccles & Roeser, 2011). These moments become the foundation of lifelong confidence and joyful memories.
Please remember:
- Celebrate Their Unique Journey: Take time to reflect with your child on their progress this year. Every challenge overcome and every new skill mastered deserves recognition.
- Goodbyes Matter: If you’re transitioning from SSIS, please give your child space to say meaningful goodbyes to friends and teachers. Psychologists emphasize that closure rituals help children process change positively (Winstone & Huntington, 2022).
- Once a Sabre, Always a Sabre: Wherever your family’s journey takes you next, know that your child will always be part of the SSIS family. Our community’s bonds transcend borders, and we will never forget the light they brought to our school.
Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education and wellbeing. Let’s finish this year with gratitude, celebration, and the confidence that our students are prepared to shine brightly.
Stronger Together,
Mr. SHIRLEY
Head of School
