T2W2 – 15 Dec 2023
Dear Sabres Family,
I hope my message finds you well. Here is a quick update on our sports programme.
CISSA Football/Soccer:
After a very busy football season with numerous fixtures, both our boys’ and girls’ teams have concluded their season with the cross-river tournament, where we competed against international schools from the west and east of the river. Our young boys’ team delivered an impressive performance in the tournament. Despite losing two games and drawing two games, they displayed great effort and achieved notable growth.
The performance of our girls’ team in the tournament will be etched in the Sabres Athletics history book. They emerged victorious in all their games, securing a clean sweep and showcasing exceptional understanding of football as a sport.
All our junior football athletes demonstrated tremendous growth, passion, and resilience throughout their training and matches. Congratulations to all the student athletes, their families, and our dedicated coaches for their hard work and commitment.
CISSA Badminton
Our junior CISSA badminton team has been training diligently over the past few weeks since its formation. The team’s progress has been remarkable, with members showing significant development and improvement at an accelerated rate. The team will proudly represent SSIS in the upcoming CISSA badminton tournament.
Sabres Golf
Our golf team played a highly competitive PGA Regional Championship at the Lanhai Golf Club. Our team placed 3rd overall, which is a remarkable achievement for our golf programme. Congratulations to our golfers and their coaches!
SISAC Basketball
We are currently in the midst of our SISAC basketball season, with three teams competing (D1 boys, D1 girls, D2 boys). Thanks to an early start to the season and adequate training, our SISAC basketball student athletes are making rapid progress and showing significant improvement.
The D1 boys’ team has achieved three wins out of four in their division fixtures thus far, while the D1 girls’ team has secured two victories out of three division fixtures. The D2 boys’ team has won two out of their four division fixtures. Congratulations to all the athletes and coaches on a highly successful SISAC basketball season thus far.
ACAMIS Basketball Championship
We are currently in the process of getting things organised for the upcoming ACAMIS Yellow Division Basketball Championship, which will be held at NCPA in Guangzhou from January 24-27, 2023. ACAMIS provides a valuable learning experience for our student athletes, and we are thrilled to offer our support throughout this exciting experience.
Thank you for your continued support for our athletics programme. I sincerely wish you a blessed holiday season with your family, friends, and loved ones.
~ Go Sabres!
Sincerely,
Joseph ATTYA
