On October 19th and 20th,, our Preschoolers had a wonderful time exploring various places on their autumn excursions. As part of the inquiry on ‘Community Helpers’, K1 students visited Fashion Mall’s Domino Pizza restaurant, where they had the chance to become little chefs and make their own pizzas.
Our Nursery learners visited Evergreen Farm as part of their exploration about colours, healthy eating and the world around us. K2 learners explored the Shanghai Zoo and reinforced their in class discoveries regarding animals, countries and continents.
At SSIS we believe excursions are invaluable as they provide our young children with the chance to learn in a different environment outside of their school. By experiencing firsthand what they have learned in the classroom, they are able to see how it applies to the real world. This hands-on experience helps solidify their understanding of the concepts they’ve been taught.
Furthermore, such trips allow the children to develop a sense of adventure and curiosity. They become more inquisitive about the world around them and develop a deeper appreciation for it. Being able to see and touch the things they are learning about makes the entire learning experience more engaging, memorable, and effective.
Our amazing learners had a holistic learning experience which was not only a lot of fun but promoted both academic growth and personal development.
