T1W8 – 27 Oct 2023
Dear Sabres Family,
I hope my message finds you well. Here is a quick update on our sports programme.
CISSA Football/Soccer:
Our CISSA Boys and Girls Football teams are diligently training and working hard to prepare for their upcoming CISSA fixtures. Our first game is scheduled for October 31st, and we are excitedly looking forward to it!
SSL Round 1:
SSIS hosted a fantastic Swim Meet on October 14th. With 700 swimmers from 14 different international schools, the Meet was action-packed with competitive heats and finals. It was truly inspiring to witness everyone’s collective efforts and the success of the well-organised event. It was a great day for our swimmers!
SISAC Volleyball:
Our teams completed the last batch of volleyball fixtures. All four teams competed against SSIS Suzhou and performed admirably, although they fell short of securing victories. After that, our D2 teams faced off against DCS PX, with the boys securing a convincing win and the girls putting in a strong performance despite losing their game. We concluded with a fantastic victory from our D1 teams in an away game against DSS. Looking ahead, our teams are currently gearing up for the SISAC season-ending tournaments scheduled for this Saturday. Our D1 boys and girls, along with the D2 boys, will be competing for the SISAC cup, while our D2 girls will be competing for the SISAC plate right here at SSIS.
Sabres Have New Official Uniforms:
We have partnered with K12 to design new uniforms for our sports teams. Going forward, students will have the opportunity to purchase their kits and keep them at the end of the season. This is a significant and positive advancement for our athletics programme.
Our Athletics Programme’s Core Values:
SSIS is dedicated to offering our student athletes a secure, supportive, and inclusive environment for the sports they train and compete in. We aim to foster the holistic development of our athletes, encompassing their physical, tactical, social, and psychological growth. While winning games holds significance for many, it is not the sole bench mark we employ to gauge success and accomplishments in our sports programme.
Thank you for your continued support for our athletics programme!
~ Go Sabres!
Sincerely,
Joseph ATTYA
