Aesthetics News

T1W4 – 23 September 2022

Dear Parents and SSIS Community,

We hope that you and your child are settling into this academic year well!

The Aesthetics department has been busy preparing creative lessons inside the classroom and engaging events. We are happy to announce that our Artist in Residence (AiR) programme has now begun with Mr. Kenneth Koh. A separate message will be sent home with details about this new initiative and how it will improve your child’s creativity and art making experience.

We are also proud to announce that Primary Strings classes have now begun with Mr. Michael Hicks. If your child is a violin or cello player and not yet a member, please reach out to Mr. Hicks at to enroll your child today. We’re looking forward to seeing these talented performers show their skills on the stage!

ASP sign-ups are an important part of the Aesthetics programme here at SSIS. Both the Primary School and Senior School Orchestras will be open soon for all students who play any string instruments. Also in Senior School, we have the ever-popular Show Band which is open to students of all instruments. This year we are happy to announce our Primary School Choir is now open to all students and will be rehearsing during ASP time. Also running as ASPs is our Primary and Senior Dramas, all students who have any interest in the stage or productions are encouraged to join! And of course, we be running several wonderful Visual Arts after school programmes as well, many of which will be led by the Sabres Crew Creative.

Thank you for your continued support of the SSIS Aesthetics Programme!
