Dear Parents and SSIS Community,
Welcome to another exciting year full of music, art and stagecraft! Here in the Aesthetics Department we have started the year off strong with several events and performances from the very beginning. We were happy to greet you all on Orientation Day with an exciting Art Exhibition in the lobby displaying some of our students’ exceptional work. You may have also seen Chen, Chin Ya performing a beautiful piano selection at the Senior School Orientation. During SSIS’s 26th Founder’s Day Celebration Dai, You Cheng and Tai, Sze Shing performed some exceptional pieces on classical guitar and violin for the entire school’s enjoyment.
This academic year we are excited to welcome several new members of the Aesthetics team. Mr. Michael Hicks is joining us as the new primary string teacher, Mr. Tyler Jay will be teaching upper primary music and is the Primary Aesthetics Head of Department and Mr. Kenneth Koh is our Artist in Residence. We are delighted to be sharing the new Artist in Residence (AiR) initiative with you, this programme is will be bringing new and exciting artistic styles and projects into the Visual Arts classrooms, CCAs and ASPs. Additional information around this programme will be sent home in the near future. We’re looking forward to sharing the Aesthetics’ Departments improvements and projects inside and outside of the classroom soon!
