T3W8 – 12 May 2023
Dear Parents,
Today, May 12th, we celebrated another milestone for our young learners- a magnificent summer concert! For many students, this was the first time in their lives performing in front of a live audience. It was spectacular!
At SSIS we believe in the holistic development of our students. Thus, exposure to an array of artistic, athletic and cultural experiences is a key part of allowing our learners to build their understanding of the world and to find their interests and passions.
Research has shown that students who perform are quick thinkers and more confident in overcoming fears, not limited to stage fright. Moreover, being part of a performance enables learners to identify as part of a larger whole working towards a common goal and increases their self-esteem.
This year’s summer concert, thought provokingly titled ‘WHO’, told the story of a faraway planet in search of a ruling clan. The exciting plot depicted many of the Future Global Leader Attributes that students have been reviewing at assemblies all year- being resilient, courageous, communicative and open-minded. The bright smiles at the finale told a tale of triumph! Well done Preschool!
But… the fun is not over for AY22-23 yet! We look forward to welcoming families at our first event NatureFest next Friday, May 19th. Sign up via the QR if you haven’t yet!
See you soon!
Kind Regards,
Sonia Barghani, Ed.D.
