Our students from the Class of 2020 have much to celebrate besides their graduation. Many of them have received remarkable university offers and scholarships, and they are now going to spend summer getting ready for their next stage of higher education.
Our 2020 class had 16 offers to world Top 50 ranked schools, including offers to:
University of Toronto (#18), Carnegie Mellon University (#27), University of Edinburgh (#30), University of California, San Diego (#31), University of Hong Kong (#35), and King’s College London (#36).
Aside from high ranking universities, they had multiple offers from specialised art schools like The New School Parsons School of Design, Pratt Institute, School of Visual Arts, University of the Arts London and School of The Art Institute of Chicago.
In addition, students received offers from liberal arts colleges like Union College, Bennington College and Bates College.
Scholarship Offers – A New High
Over 8.4 million RMB in undergraduate scholarships were offered to our students, the highest figure in SSIS’s history. Here are just a few highlights of where our 2020 graduates will study next year:
- Shannon LEE Wei will attend Carnegie Mellon University to study design, a programme with only a seven per cent acceptance rate.
- Kayo KIMIZONO will attend Keio University, Faculty of Economics in the prestigious PEARL programme.
- LIM Lei was awarded the Toronto International Scholar Award at the University of Toronto, where he will study Computer Science.
- Arundhati GORE was awarded the Presidential Merit Scholarship at Union College where she will study Biochemistry.
We expect to add a few more names to this list as we are waiting to hear from universities in Singapore and South Korea.
How Our Counsellors Help with Applications
Our counsellors help students to narrow their choices, prepare their essays and open doors to admissions departments in universities throughout the world. They work one-to-one with students to help them find schools that fit both their academic ability and goals while focusing on adding value to their university applications.
It takes a lot of research to come up with the right combination of schools, but our overall scholarship totals show that our counsellors are on the right path to helping our students and families.
We wish our graduates all the best, and we look forward to seeing all of them embarking on the exciting next stage of their lives.
